  • Young Madhava, a Gauda Saraswata Brahmana, was the only qualified person nearby.
  • Shree Ramachandra Teerth initiated Madhava into Sanyasa in Srisaka 1397 Manmatha Samvatsara, Chaitra Shukla Dviteeya, naming him Sriman Narayana Teertha.

  • Sriman Madhvacharya established Ashtamathas (eight maths) at Udupi to disseminate the Dvaita philosophy of the Madhva sect.
  • Palimaru Math, one of the Ashtamathas, was the first of the eight maths initiated.
  • The Gaud Saraswat community along the Western Coast of India accepted the spiritual guidance of Palimaru Math.
  • Shree Narayan Teerth resolved to complete his pilgrimage to sacred spots and shrines of North India.
  • He visited places like Kurukshetra, Brahmavarta, Brahmahruda, and Varanasi.
  • Varanasi is considered the abode of rest of Lord Madhava.
  • During the holy month of Kartik, Swamiji took a sacred dip at the Panchaganga Ghat.
  • An incident occurred where a princess lost her diamond bangles, and Swamiji was wrongly accused.
  • The bangles were later found in the river bed.
  • The King of Kashi apologized to Swamiji for the trouble caused.
  • Swamiji expressed the desire to have Math premises at Panchaganga Ghat.
