History of Math
- Shreemad Ramachandra TeerthSripada Vader Swamiji, the Sixth Pontiff of the Math Tradition, found four statues of Shree Rama, Seeta, Laxman, and Hanumantha during excavation work in the backyard of the Gokarna Math.
- He received divine instructions to carry the stone statues north and install them where the idols felt heavy.
- Swamiji began his journey north from Gokarna, travelling through Karwar, Mashe, and Painginim.
- At the Ashrama of Paingi Rhushi in Poinginium, the idols became heavy, but there was no water in the area.
- That night, Swamiji received divine instructions that a Kamadhenu would appear the next morning to show the installation site.
- The Kamadhenu appeared, was worshipped, and led Swamiji and his followers through rivers, valleys, and steep ghats to the banks of the Ishanyaplava Kushavati river.
- Swamiji installed the stone statues of Shree Rama, Laxmana, and Seeta at this scenic location, now known as Partagali.
- The Kamadhenu continued north to Rhushivana (present-day Rivan), where it started milking.
- Following divine instructions, Swamiji installed the statue of Maruti and later constructed a Shakha Math there.
