History of Math

  • Around 50 GSB (Gowd Saraswat Brahmin) families settled in Bhadravati, engaging in various professions.
  • Despite their common heritage, the families remained disconnected due to the lack of a unified platform.
  • In the late 1970s, the community formed an informal body known as GSB Samaj, Bhadravati, to foster unity.
  • The absence of a permanent venue hindered regular gatherings and strengthening of social bonds.
  • Financial constraints prevented the realization of a dedicated space for the community.
  • In 2001, a visit by Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji to Bhadravati marked a turning point.
  • The idea of building the “Shri Vidyadhiraja Sabhagraha” was conceived during this visit.
  • Following Swamiji’s blessings, the Samaj acquired an adjacent plot of land.
  • The foundation stone laying ceremony (Shilanyas) was performed on 07.03.2002.
  • Within 15 months, the construction of the building was completed.
  • The inauguration of the Shri Vidyadhiraja Sabhagraha took place on 14.11.2003 by Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth Swamiji, amidst great enthusiasm and devotion.
