So in this Guru stuti when it is said Sri AnuJeevottam teerth swamiji was shanta and daanta , we have to include the other epithets also. So Swamiji was शान्त, दांत, उपरत, तितिक्षु.

What do they mean? Shriman Madhvacharya says in the bhashya to brihad aranyaka upanishat passage given above.

To see the paramatma present in one’s atma these gunas are needed.

Shanti means unshaken faith in Vishnu. This is not blind. It us born out of knowing the infinite goodness and greatness of Vishnu.

Dama is to be in full control of one’s senses thereby making all senses flow only towards Vishnu.

Uparati is to be always happy with whatever is earned in life and not unduly chasing material wealth. This leads to being content by thinking about the greatness of Vishnu.

Titiksha is to bear the pairs of mundane suffering/happiness. This makes one disregard getting snared by effects of disappointment and feelings of exuberance and remain steadfast in Vishnu.

Kshama is never to be angry.

We know Bhagavan Sri Krishna pointing out the effects of anger.

So Swamiji was devoid of anger. All these were present in Sri Anujeevottam teerth swamiji, always।।
