History of Swamiji
द्वारकानाथ तीर्थानां अनुग्रह समुद्भवम् ।
विद्याधिराज योगीशं वंदे विद्याभिवृद्धये॥
- Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth, a disciple of the 22nd Acharya Shreemad Dwarakanath Teerth Swamiji, was born to Gangolli, Senapur Sri Laxminarayanacharya and Smt. Shrimati Bai as their second son.
- His purvashrama name was Raghavendra Acharya.
- He was taken to Samsthan’s Wadala Math in Mumbai in 1888, Magha Krishna Dwiteeya.
- Initiated into sanyasa on 26th February 1967 with great pomp.
- Traditional method of choosing a disciple was followed, involving astrologers and janmapatrikas.
- Raghavendra Acharya was selected for sanyasa and named Shri Vidyadhiraja Teertha.
- Guruswamiji’s companionship lasted for six years, focusing on Shishya’s education in modern sciences, spirituality, philosophy, Veda Vedanta, etc.
- Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth was proficient in Kannada, English, Marathi, Hindi, and Konkani.
- His first public speech after Pattabhisheka was noted for its eloquence.
- Shreemad Dwaranatha Teerth Swami attained Haripada on March 25, 1973.
- Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth’s Pattabhisheka was done on April 5, 1973.
- Numerous disciples gathered at Partagali Matha for the Pattabhisheka.
- Swamiji initiated many social works and developed rapport with people, including the late Chief Minister of Goa, Dayanand Bandodkar.
- Shreemad Vidyadhiraja Teerth is the 23rd Swamiji in the lineage of Shree Samsthan Gokarna Patagali Jeevottam Math.
- Announced the resolve to celebrate the Panchashatabdi Mahotsav of Shrimath Samsthapana.
- Renovated the first Matha of Sri Samsthan in Varanasi and built a new Matha at Vasco (Goa).
- Inaugurated the renovated Matha at Partagali on March 19, 1999.
- Fulfilled numerous resolutions, including restoration and expansion of old Mathas, construction of new Mathas, renovation of temples, and installation of new idols.
- Strengthened the faith of Kuldev and Gurupeeths through Chaturmasya Vratacharan.
- Expanded social, cultural, and religious activities while continuing Swadhyay Sadhana.
- Successfully completed the Sriman Nyayasudha Patha started in 1998.
- Enhanced the quality of Vedic schools in Partagali Matha, providing systematic education in Vedas, Sanskrit, Dharmashastra, Jyotish, etc.
- Established two charitable trust boards: Swami Dwarkanath Board of Trustees and Shri Vidyadhiraj Charity Board of Trustees.
- Performed numerous religious Homa-havans in the presence of local deities.
